SAILING SUNSET CRUISE – CAPE TOWN

Watching the sunset from the deck of a traditional schooner off the beautiful Cape coastline is an experience not to be missed! This twin-masted schooner Esperance is the perfect vessel to host guests for this daily event.

This is a classically built single-hulled boat that gives a true sailing experience as you cut gently through the swells under full sails, with fore and aft decks and a jutting bowsprit that all offer great viewing. After tracking along the Cape coastline and viewing the panorama of sights, we drop anchor off Granger Bay to watch the sun set majestically over the Atlantic horizon. With a fully stocked cash bar aboard for refreshments (own account), you can toast the occasion and each other. An Esperance Sunset Cruise is old-school sailing combined with the perfection of a stunning sunset, Cape scenery and great fun.

Places are almost always limited, so booking ahead online is recommended.

VARIATION TO CRUISE (DUE TO WEATHER)
For all the vessels, when the seas are running too high or the wind is unpleasantly strong, instead of heading into Table Bay the destination is Cape Town Harbour. This safety feature is a perfect alternative, offering magical views of the harbour, Cape Town, and Table Mountain and in the evening the lights of Cape Town and the harbour. In extreme conditions, the skipper will take every aspect into account, and even stay dockside to ensure the safety of the passengers.

Weather: In the unlikely event that the primary boat for this cruise is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, the operator reserves the right to utilize an alternative vessel for this experience. Be assured that the operator will always make every possible effort to ensure that the advertised vessel is available. Some Cruises do not have a dedicated boat for the cruise and rely on a pool of available vessels to cover fluctuations in weather, seasonal passenger numbers, and planned maintenance.

Do take medication beforehand if you have previously experienced motion sickness.

Please make sure that you arrive at the activity location at least 30min before the scheduled cruise departure to collect your boarding pass(es).
Please DO NOT go directly to the boat as the skipper will not allow you onboard without the boarding pass that must be collected at the front office.

Please note that the sunset departure times are dependent on the constantly changing time of the actual sunset. The time changes in the schedule below are valid for the period between changes: e.g. at 18h45 for the days between the 15th February 2023 and the 26th February 2023.
