Morning Safari in Kruger National Park
Approx. 6–7 hours: Includes transfer, gate time, and a ±1-hour breakfast stop at one of the rest camps.

Afternoon Safari
Approx. 5–6 hours: Includes transfer, gate time, and a short refreshment stop at one of the rest camps.

Full-Day Safari
Approx. 10–11 hours: Includes transfer, gate time, and a ±1-hour breakfast and lunch stop at one of the rest camps.

Sunrise Safari
Approx. 3–4 hours: No stops at rest camps, please use the facilities before departure.

• Please be ready at your collection point on time. Vehicles operate on scheduled departures and cannot wait for late guests; 100% “no-show” fees will apply.
• During camp stops, return to the vehicle promptly so the guide can maintain the planned route and timing.
• Kruger Park Safaris Seating: Vehicles seat a maximum of 10 guests (3 rows of 3 seats + 1 seat next to the guide). The front seat next to the guide is a great spot, offering first-hand insight and easy interaction throughout the drive. Seats are not pre-booked on scheduled safaris. Requests can be made in advance, but are not guaranteed unless a private vehicle is booked. Refusal to join a safari due to seating preferences (including seat position or sitting next to others/driver) will be treated as a no-show and is not eligible for a refund or cancellation.

Every visitor entering the Kruger National Park is required to pay a daily conservation fee, unless otherwise stated in your booking. These fees help maintain the park’s wildlife protection, conservation projects, and infrastructure.

• Guests must present a valid ID book, passport, or driver’s licence at the gate.
• Kruger National Park is a cashless facility, and all payments must be made via credit or debit card only.

• Your guide will handle the registration process.
• You’ll need to present your ID/passport for verification.
• Conservation fees will be paid directly by card at the gate kiosk.
• Fun fact: Kruger Park gates are often home to vervet monkeys, hornbills, and even wandering elephants, so your safari begins the moment you arrive!

• Alcohol, drugs, or any illicit substances are strictly prohibited inside the park or on safari vehicles.
• The operator and guides reserve the right to refuse or terminate services without refund if guests are intoxicated, disruptive, or behaving inappropriately. Please respect the guides, fellow passengers, and wildlife.

• Warm jacket or blanket for early mornings or cooler weather. Safaris can get chilly before sunrise, so dress in layers that you can remove as the day warms up.
• Light rainwear during the summer months.
• Camera, binoculars, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses.
• Closed shoes, as you may walk short distances at rest stops.
• Water is available on the vehicle; please ask your guide.

Meals are not included in standard Kruger safaris, unless specified, but you will stop at one of the park’s rest camps for breakfast (morning and full safaris), a short break (afternoon safaris), and lunch for full-day tours.

Each rest camp offers restaurants, shops, and restroom facilities. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks, picnic, or purchase at the camps.

Group catering for private tours or special occasions is available on request.

Family safaris are a wonderful way to introduce children to the magic of Africa’s wildlife. We welcome families with children on our Kruger Park safaris, but safety is our top priority, both for our guests and for the animals.

• Private vehicle safaris are mandatory for families with children under 6 years (not available with SANParks Sunrise and Sunset safaris). A private vehicle safari ensures your family has the guide and vehicle all to yourselves.
• Private safaris also allow you to choose your own pace which is perfect for naptimes, snack breaks, or focusing on specific wildlife interests like elephants or birds.
• Please bring along snacks, water, and small toys/books to keep little ones entertained during longer drives.
• Children 6–11 years may join shared safaris at a reduced rate when accompanied by two paying adults.
• Children must be supervised at all times, especially in rest camps and during vehicle stops.

• Safaris operate in most weather conditions, including rain. Vehicles are equipped with weatherproof ponchos and roll-down sides for comfort.
• Rainy safaris can be surprisingly rewarding as animals remain active and the scenery comes alive with colour.
• In rare cases of extreme weather or park-enforced closures, your tour may be rescheduled at the operator’s discretion.

Wild animals roam freely in Kruger, and sightings can never be guaranteed, but your experienced guides are skilled at tracking and interpreting animal behaviour. Remember, safaris are about more than ticking off the Big 5; take time to appreciate the smaller wonders, from hornbills and tortoises to termite mounds and trees that have stood for centuries.

It is strictly against the operator’s Service Levels Agreement with the Kruger National Park to call in sightings by radio. The guides are selected for their safari expertise and knowledge of the area. They are in group contact with each other on a private company sightings app, which is silent and therefore less intrusive, especially at sightings.

Kindly note that all safaris need to be prepaid in full before departure. Please make sure your booking is confirmed and that you’ve received your voucher from our reservations team before you arrive.

Tipping is not compulsory, but always greatly appreciated by your guide and driver for excellent service. Gratuities should be given in cash directly to your guide (no card tips are accepted). Below is a general guideline for tipping on a Kruger Park safari. You’re, of course, welcome to tip more if you were especially happy with the service.

• Transfers: R25 per person per transfer
• Half-day Safari or Tour: R50 per person
• Full-day Safari or Tour: R100 per person

Personal belongings are carried entirely at the owner’s risk. Please keep your valuables with you when stopping at gates or rest camps. Do not leave any belongings unattended in the vehicle, as it is open. Vervet monkeys and baboons are notorious for snatching unattended snacks and bags.

Important etiquette and safety details:

• Remain seated inside the vehicle unless your guide indicates it’s safe to disembark.
• Open safari vehicles are designed for close-up viewing but not physical contact. Guides are trained to position vehicles safely for viewing and photography without disturbing wildlife.
• Avoid loud noises or sudden movements; this helps keep animals calm.
• Never feed or call the animals.
• Always follow your guide’s instructions for your safety.
• Smoking is prohibited in vehicles and only allowed in designated areas at rest camps.
