Step into the wild and experience the Kruger National Park on foot with a guided Bush Walk led by qualified and armed SANParks rangers. This immersive walking safari takes you deep into the African bush, where you’ll learn tracking skills, spot signs of wildlife activity, and discover the fascinating plants, birds, and trees that make this ecosystem so special.
Your adventure begins with a pick-up in Hazyview, followed by a transfer into the Kruger National Park to meet your SANParks trail guides. From there, you’ll set off on a 2–3 hour walking excursion, exploring areas unreachable by vehicle and gaining a new appreciation for the sights, sounds, and scents of the bush.
Along the way, your rangers will share insights into animal behaviour, medicinal plants, tracking techniques, and more; with the possibility of encountering members of the Big 5 on foot.
This tour operates with a minimum of 4 guests. Participants must be 12 years or older. Guests aged 65+ require a doctor’s note confirming they are fit to participate.

- Minimum Age: Participants must be 12 years or older.
- Guests Aged 65 and Older: Guests aged 65 years and older must provide a doctor’s note confirming that they are physically fit to participate.
- Fitness Requirement: Guests must be physically fit and able to walk for approximately 2–3 hours through uneven bush terrain.
- Minimum Group Size: A minimum of 4 guests is required. Smaller parties may ask to join an existing group, subject to availability and booking confirmation.
- Pickup Points: Standard collection points include the Tours & Tickets South Africa office at Perry’s Bridge Trading Post & Tourism Centre, Sabi River Sun Resort, Kruger Park Lodge, Hazyview Sun, Hippo Hollow, Numbi Hotel, Sanbonani, Hazyview Cabanas and most accommodation establishments in central Hazyview.
- Outside Pickup Area: Collection outside the standard pickup area may be arranged at an additional charge.
- What to Wear: Wear comfortable closed-toe walking or hiking shoes, neutral-coloured lightweight clothing and a wide-brimmed hat.
- What to Bring: Bring sunscreen and sufficient drinking water.
- Cancellation Policy: A 100% cancellation fee applies in accordance with the SANParks cancellation policy.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. The rangers will look for animals, tracks and other signs of wildlife, with possible encounters with members of the Big 5.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable closed-toe walking or hiking shoes and lightweight, neutral-coloured clothing. Bring a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, sufficient drinking water and your camera.
