Your adventure begins before dawn with a transfer in open safari vehicles from your lodge* or Sun City Resort hotel to the launch site in the heart of Pilanesberg. After a safety briefing, you’ll climb into the basket and gently lift off for the flight. From this peaceful vantage point, you may spot elephants, rhinos, or even lions moving through the savanna below. On landing, enjoy a celebratory glass of sparkling wine and orange juice, followed by a hearty full English breakfast served at a private lodge. Each guest receives a signed flight certificate before being returned to their accommodation.

Duration: 45 minute – 1 hour flight. We advise passengers to set aside approximately 5 to 6 hours for the morning’s activity (check-in, flight, return transfer to accommodation, and breakfast).

What are the chances of seeing animals?

Quite high! Pilanesberg is a Big Five park. While sightings cannot be guaranteed, the unique aerial perspective often allows you to spot elephants, rhinos, and other wildlife moving below.

Is breakfast included?

Yes. After your flight, you’ll enjoy a full English breakfast at a private lodge.

Can I bring a camera?

Absolutely. Guests are encouraged to bring cameras or binoculars to capture the incredible views and wildlife sightings.

How long is the flight?

The balloon flight lasts between 45–60 minutes, but the full outing takes about 5–6 hours including transfers and breakfast.

Is the activity safe?

Yes. Flights are operated by licensed, experienced pilots, and only take place in suitable weather conditions.

What if the flight is cancelled due to weather by the operator?

You may reschedule, receive a voucher valid for 6 months, or request a refund (less a 20% admin fee).

Who cannot participate?

Pregnant women, children under 12, and anyone unable to climb unaided into the basket or stand for the full duration of the flight.
