Important Information

  • Duration: Approximately 1 hour in total, including safety briefing, setup, abseil, and a ±30-minute hike back up to the top station.
  • Weather: 100% weather dependent. If unsafe (rain, strong wind), the activity may be postponed or rescheduled.
  • Requirements: Minimum age 10 years. Maximum weight 120 kg. No previous abseiling experience required.
  • Access: Guests must reach the top of Table Mountain by Cableway (ticket not included) or by hiking up.
  • Maintenance Note: Table Mountain Cableway is closed annually in July/August (exact dates vary). During this period, participants must hike up and down to access the abseil point. Guided hikes are available at an additional cost; please enquire when booking.
  • Booking: Advance booking is essential due to limited daily slots and weather dependency.

How do I get to the abseil point?

You need to make your way to the top of Table Mountain, either by Cable Car (ticket not included) or by hiking up one of the trails.

Do I need prior abseiling experience?

No. This activity is beginner-friendly. Guides provide full safety training, equipment, and talk you through the entire descent.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The abseil is weather-dependent and may be cancelled in strong winds or rain. If this happens, you can reschedule for another available day.

Is there an age or weight limit?

Yes. Minimum age is 10 years, and maximum weight is 120 kg.
