Available Bee Tour Options
Duration: Approximately 1–1.5 hours, depending on the group and tour conditions.
Inclusions: Guided bee tour, protective bee suit, gloves, gumboots and required tour lighting for the Night Jar Evening Tour.
Exclusions: Food, drinks, honey or farm shop purchases, transport to/from the meeting point, and any items not specified in your confirmed booking.
Important Information
- Children: Children’s rate applies to children aged 3–12 years. Guests aged 13 years and older pay the adult rate.
- What to Wear: Comfortable clothing and socks for the gumboots.
- Protective Gear: Bee suits, gloves and gumboots are provided.
- Indemnity: All guests must complete and sign an indemnity form before participating.
- Allergies / Fear of Bees: Guests with bee sting allergies or a serious fear of bees are strongly advised to book the Night Jar Evening Tour.
- Night Jar Tour Lighting: Guests do not need to bring torches. Bright white light attracts bees, so specialised red lighting is provided.
- Weather: Weather can affect bee activity and farm road conditions. Tours may be postponed or rescheduled if needed for safety.
- Farm Shop: After the tour, guests may browse the farm shop and purchase raw honey or bee-related products. Cash and card payments are accepted.
- Group Size: Current maximum group size is 3 adults and up to 4 children per tour.
The standard winter tour times are 08:00, 16:30 and 18:30. Alternative times may sometimes be possible for guests who cannot join the scheduled times, subject to availability and weather conditions. Please contact us or chat with us to enquire.
What are the Bee Tour times?
The winter schedule includes the Morning Bee Tour at 08:00, Golden Hour Bee Tour at 16:30, and Night Jar Evening Tour at 18:30. Times may change in spring and summer due to warmer weather conditions.
Is the Bee Tour safe?
All necessary protective equipment is provided, including bee suits, gloves and gumboots. Guests must follow the guide’s instructions and sign an indemnity form before the tour.
Can guests with bee sting allergies join?
Guests with bee sting allergies or a serious fear of bees are strongly advised to book the Night Jar Evening Tour, which uses specialised red light and is designed to keep the bees calmer.
Do guests need to bring torches for the Night Jar Evening Tour?
No. Guests should not bring bright white torches, as white light attracts bees. Specialised red lighting is provided for the Night Jar Evening Tour.
What should guests wear?
