Experience the magic of the Kruger National Park as the sun sets and the bushveld comes alive with nocturnal sounds and activity. This late afternoon and early evening safari gives you the chance to spot predators beginning their nightly hunts, herbivores grazing before dark, and other elusive wildlife that you may not see during the day, all under the guidance of experienced SANParks guides.

Highlights include:

• 3 hour Sunset Safari with SANParks rangers
• Use of spotlights to search for nocturnal animals
• Chance to spot members of the Big 5 and other predators as they become active
• Two options available:
  1. With Transfers from Hazyview or Malelane
  2. Self-Drive to Phabeni, Malelane, Paul Kruger, or Crocodile Bridge gates
• Includes Kruger Park entry fees

Option 1: Sunset Safari with Transfers

• Departure: Around 15:30 (season dependent) from Hazyview or Malelane hotels and lodges
• Includes return transfers to/from the Kruger National Park gate
• Board an open safari vehicle with a SANParks guide for your sunset drive around 16h00/16h30
• Use a spotlight to track nocturnal species
• Ideal for guests who prefer not to self-drive

• Hazyview: Perry’s Bridge Trading Post, Sabi River Sun Resort, Kruger Park Lodge, Hazyview Sun, Hippo Hollow, Numbi Hotel, Sanbonani, Hazyview Cabanas, and most central Hazyview lodges within 10km. For collection outside of our pickup range, an additional charge may apply.
• Malelane: Pestana Kruger Lodge, Buhala Lodge, Hamiltons Lodge, Kruger View Chalets, Leopard Creek Country Club, and most central Malelane lodges. For collection outside of our pickup range, an additional charge may apply.

Duration: 3-4hours includes transfer time (Hazyview & Malelane only)
Inclusions: Transfers from hotel to gate and return. Kruger Park entry fees. SANParks-guided game drive.
Exclusions: Meals, drinks, and Items of personal nature.
Minimum: 4 guests (ask to join a group)

Collection/Drop off:

The pickup points include our office at Perry’s Bridge Trading Post & Tourism Centre in Hazyview, OR from local Malelane Hotels.

• Hazyview: We also collect from Sabi River Sun Resort, Kruger Park Lodge, Hazyview Sun, Hippo Hollow, Numbi Hotel, Sanbonani, Hazyview Cabanas and most lodges in the Hazyview central area. For collection outside of our pickup range, an additional charge may apply. 
• Malelane: We also collect from Pestana Kruger Lodge, Buhala Lodge, Hamiltons Lodge, Kruger View Chalets, Leopard Creek Country Club, and most lodges in the Malelane central area. For collection outside of our pickup range, an additional charge may apply.

OPTION 2: Self-Drive to Gate

• Departure: Around 16:30 (season dependent) from Phabeni, Malelane, Paul Kruger, or Crocodile Bridge
• Guests drive themselves to the gate and board a SANParks open safari vehicle for a 3-hour game drive
• Use spotlights to look for lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, and other night-active wildlife
• Perfect for guests already staying near the gate or who prefer to self-drive

Exclusions: Meals, drinks, and Items of personal nature.

Important Information

• Sunset Safaris are subject to availability and require a minimum of 4 confirmed guests.
• Weather: Drives depart in most weather conditions. In rare cases of extreme weather, SANParks may delay or cancel for safety reasons.
• Children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by two adults to qualify for kids’ rates.
• Entry Fees: Kruger Park entry fees are included in the rate for both options.
• What to Bring: Comfortable layered clothing (it can get cool after dark), closed shoes, camera, binoculars, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Health & Safety: For your safety, remain seated during the drive, keep arms and legs inside the vehicle, and follow the ranger’s instructions at all times.
• Meals & Drinks: Not included. Guests may bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Cancellation Policy: This activity is run by SANParks. A 100% cancellation fee applies once your booking is confirmed, as per SANParks policy.
