What to bring
- Layers: Early mornings can be cold; afternoons warm. Bring a jacket, beanie, and a light rain layer in summer.
- Sun protection: Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.
- Camera & binoculars: Highly recommended.
- Comfort: Closed shoes, lip balm, insect repellent, tissues.
- Cash: Helpful for rest camps and tipping.
On the vehicle
- Keep your phone/camera secured — open vehicles can be bumpy.
- Keep belongings on your lap or under your seat; monkeys and baboons steal unattended items at stops.
- Listening is part of the experience — quieter guests generally see more wildlife.
Rest camp stops
- You may stop for a coffee, toilet break, or meal (unless your voucher states otherwise).
- Meals and drinks are usually for your own account unless specified.
- Always return to the vehicle on time — delays affect the drive.
Wildlife etiquette & safety
- Remain seated unless your guide indicates it’s safe to disembark.
- Never feed or call the animals.
- Avoid loud noises or sudden movements.
- Smoking is prohibited in vehicles and only allowed in designated areas at rest camps.
- Always follow your guide’s instructions — they’re trained in wildlife behaviour and guest safety.
