Explore the mysterious depths of Sabie’s caves with candles, overalls, and helmets — muddy tunnels, dark holes, and large chambers. Small tunnels are optional, so you can make it as extreme as you like.

Important: You must be physically fit; restrictions may apply. Must be okay with small, closed spaces.

Tip: Wear older clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Welcome to Nyani Cultural Village — where traditions come alive through storytelling, music, dance and immersive experiences. The signature Roots of Rhythm show is a captivating 1-hour performance showcasing songs, dances and stories of tribes such as the San, Shona, Venda, Tsonga, Pedi and Zulu.

The Graskop Gorge Lift takes you 51m down into the forest below where you can explore elevated walkways, suspension bridges and informative boards. A 70m staircase offers an alternative way in or out.

Note: The Graskop Gorge entry fee is not included in our rates and is payable direct.

Duration: Self-guided walk approx 30min – 1 hour.

Inclusions: Viewing Lift access into the gorge and the 600m interpretation trail on the valley floor.

This guided hiking trail starts at the meeting point of the Sabaan, Sabie and Mac-Mac rivers in Hazyview, following the banks of the Mac-Mac River with a few steep hills along the way. At the halfway mark, cross to the Matumi picnic site to rest, refuel, or enjoy a quick swim (pack your costume!).

Note: Easy walk of about 14km. Minimum of 4 people to go out — ask to join a group!

Duration: Approx 4–5 hours (departs at 8am, fitness dependent).
