Instead of just driving straight back to the city, you turn the journey into part of the honeymoon. The Cape Canopy Tour takes you into the mountains, where you swap road trip snacks for helmets, harnesses, fresh air and zipline views that make South Africa look like it is showing off on purpose.
The experience starts with a 4×4 drive to the starting point, passing rock formations, indigenous plants, fynbos and mountain scenery along the way. If you are lucky, you might even spot wildlife such as klipspringer antelope.
The tour includes 11 platforms and a series of ziplines, including one of the longest in the country at around 330 metres. The guides were a huge highlight for Sabine. They were knowledgeable, safety-focused, encouraging and full of energy, keeping the group excited while making sure everyone felt calm and comfortable.

Starting the honeymoon with shark cage diving may not be everyone’s idea of romance, but for couples who love adventure, it is a story you will be telling for years.
Sabine and her husband joined Shark Explorers in Simon’s Town for a shark cage diving trip, and while the weather looked beautiful at first, Cape Town had other plans. With major storms approaching, marine life was not very active on the day. That meant fewer shark sightings, which is always a possibility with wildlife experiences.
The experience started with coffee in Simon’s Town before a short walk to the harbour. On board, the captain and crew gave a proper safety briefing, kept the energy up, offered snacks and juices, and explained how shark behaviour, chum, and ocean conditions all affect sightings.
Only two sharks and a sea lion made an appearance, and just one group got into the cage, but the crew did not just shrug and call it a day. They stayed out longer, moved between spots, kept trying to attract sharks, and did everything they could to improve the chances.
And when nature did not fully cooperate, guests were given return vouchers with no expiry date, giving them another chance to come back and experience it again.

Sabine joined a sunset cruise from the V&A Waterfront, and although the weather was rough, the crew still brought the good vibes. There was complimentary bubbly, music, a cash bar, blankets, photo help from the crew, and a spacious boat.
The team gave a good safety briefing and made sure guests felt comfortable, even with the choppy sea. A few guests did feel seasick, but the crew looked after them well and stayed friendly and professional.
