ELEPHANT INTERACTION & BRUSHDOWN

Duration: 1.5 hours

Experience the morning brushdown ritual firsthand as you assist the caretakers at The Elephant Sanctuary Hartbeespoort Dam. Led by knowledgeable guides, you’ll gain insight into African elephants while meeting these gentle giants face-to-face and feeding them. Take a leisurely stroll alongside these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, enjoying interactive moments.

Children of all ages are welcome (under adult supervision) for the Elephant Interactions.

Highlights include:

• Assist the Caretakers with the morning brushing down of the elephants
• Feed and touch the elephants

ELEPHANT INTERACTION

Guided by knowledgeable staff, you’ll embark on a walking tour where you can feed these gentle giants, feel their warm breath, and even touch their unique trunks. Gain insight into elephant behavior and anatomy, and witness the special relationship between our caretakers and the elephants. Elephant Sanctuary Hartbeespoort Dam aims to educate and inspire guests to become ambassadors for elephant conservation in a world that needs their protection.

Children of all ages are welcome (under adult supervision) for the Elephant Interactions.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes (Elephant Interaction) & 1 hour (Monkey Sanctuary)

Following the Elephant Interaction experience at Hartbeespoort, enjoy a guided tour of the Monkey Sanctuary. Monkey Sanctuary offers a new beginning for primates like squirrel, spider, and capuchin monkeys, once kept as pets or bred for trade. 

Monkey Sanctuary Tours run every hour on the hour from 09h00am – 16h00pm and can be done either before or after the Elephant Experience.

Children of all ages are welcome (under adult supervision).

• Guided tour of the rescued primates at Monkey Sanctuary

ELEPHANT, MONKEYS & MINI SAFARI

Times: 08h00, 10h00
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes (Elephant Interaction) & 1 hour (Monkey Sanctuary) & 2 hours (Lion & Safari Park)

Following the Elephant Interaction experience at Hartbeespoort, enjoy a guided tour of the Monkey Sanctuary. Monkey Sanctuary offers a new beginning for primates like squirrel, spider, and capuchin monkeys, once kept as pets or bred for trade. After the two tours, self-drive to Lion & Safari Park for your mini safari. Enjoy a guided game drive through the Lion & Safari Park in one of their game drive trucks while the guides share interesting facts about the animals.

Monkey Sanctuary Tours run every hour on the hour from 09h00am – 16h00pm and can be done either before or after the Elephant Experience. Please note for the mini safari at Lion & Safari Park that you need to arrive 30-min prior.

Children from 4 years above are welcome (under adult supervision).
