- Children 14 years and older may ride a quad bike alone; younger children will go as passengers
- Rafting runs all year round in Hazyview.
- Rainy Season (October – April): Expect higher water levels, faster rapids, and an adrenaline-filled ride. Rain usually falls in short bursts, often on hot days (over 30°C almost year-round), so tours still go out. This is the best time if you’re looking for an adrenaline-pumping and fun experience.
- Dry Season (May – September): Water levels are lower, and some rocks may be exposed, but the trip is still lots of fun and suitable for all ages. It’s a slightly gentler adventure, perfect for those who prefer a calmer pace.
- Minimum age to join rafting is 5 years old*. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by 2 adults.
- *Child Policy: Rafting is suitable for both adults and children. However, depending on water levels during the rainy season, the minimum age may be increased for safety reasons. Please provide your child’s age at the time of booking so we can confirm if participation is suitable.
Will we find crocodiles in the river?
The Sabie River is home to both crocodiles and hippos, but your safety is top priority. The experienced guides conduct daily safety checks to monitor where these animals are located and are fully briefed on what to do if they are seen. In most cases, crocodiles and hippos are shy and prefer to avoid people, making sightings rare during activities.
Is paintball painful?
Paintball can cause a quick sting when the ball hits, but it’s not enough to cause injury. The paintball needs to break on impact to release the paint. You’ll be provided with safety clothing and protective gear, ensuring a safe and fun experience for all players.
