GRASKOP GORGE LIFT

A must-do activity on the Panorama Route is the Graskop Gorge Lift which takes you 51m down into the forest below.

The Graskop Gorge Lift Co lifestyle center forms the gateway to the forest below. The center has several small retail outlets including a community craft market, and a restaurant. Perched on the cliff edge with spectacular views of the waterfall and forest below. 
The gorge is centrally located on the Panorama Route and is an ideal stopover point. The “Panorama Lift” – a 51m glass elevator (about 16 stories high) – is the main attraction at the Graskop Gorge Lift Co, the first development of its kind in Africa.

Your journey begins as you drop off the grassy cliff-top plateau in a custom-designed 26 passenger viewing lift. The gorge lift transports you to the bottom and into a wonderland of unspoiled beauty, where elevated walkways and suspension bridges allow you to explore the river and forest while learning more about their surroundings thanks to informative interpretation boards which will give context to this unique ecosystem. A 70m staircase at the base of the waterfall is also available as an alternative means of entering and exiting the gorge.

Duration: Self-guided walk approx 30min – 1hour. 
Inclusions: Access to the Viewing Lift into the Gorge and the 600m interpretation trail on the valley floor.
Exclusions: Excludes Gorge Entry Fee which is payable direct (discounted at entry if Viewing Lift is booked). Items of personal nature.

Please note that the Graskop Gorge entry fee is not included in our rates. The entry fee is only discounted when doing the Viewing Lift.
