Scootour Mountain Adventure

Ride down mountain trails on a non-motorised, off-road scooter specially designed for downhill adventures. Your route takes you through indigenous forest, sweeping grasslands, and scenic viewpoints with breathtaking mountain vistas. Fully guided experience as your professional guide knows the best trails, the safest routes, and the most picturesque stops.

Suitable for all fitness levels, no prior experience needed. Riders must be able to balance and stand comfortably on the scooter.

Long Tom Toboggan

Experience Africa’s first alpine coaster the Long Tom Toboggan. This gravity-powered ride takes you along a 1.7 km stainless steel track, dropping 115 metres from start to finish. Ride time: ±3.5 minutes from top to bottom. Speeds: Up to 45 km/h. Brakes allow you to control your own speed. Family-friendly and adrenaline-packed!

• Guided Scootour adventure through scenic mountain trails, forests, and panoramic viewpoints

Duration: Approx. 60minute Scootour Tour. Toboggan ride is approx 3-5minutes long.
Inclusions: Guided Scootour Tour. A toboggan ride.
Exclusions: Additional rides on the toboggan. Items of personal nature.
Tour Times: Wednesdays – Sundays only. 09h30, 11h30, or 14h00. 

Minimum 2 people for the scooters to go out.

How long is the Long Tom Toboggan ride?

The track is 1.7 km long and takes about 3.5 minutes to reach the bottom, with speeds of up to 45 km/h.

Is the Scootour guided or self-ride?

The Scootour is fully guided by experienced local guides who know the terrain and safest routes. The Long Tom Toboggan is self-controlled but takes place on a secure track with staff at the start and finish.

What is the minimum age or height requirement?

For Scootour: Minimum age is usually 9 years to ride solo, with younger children riding as passengers with an adult. For Long Tom Toboggan: Minimum height requirement is 1.3 metres.

What happens if it rains?

Both activities are weather dependent for safety. If conditions are unsafe (heavy rain, lightning), your booking may be rescheduled.

Do I need to be very fit to do the Scootour?

No. The Scootour is downhill and non-motorised, so minimal fitness is needed, but you must be able to balance and stand on the scooter.

Where is the meeting point?

Both activities take place near Sabie on the Panorama Route, Mpumalanga. Exact directions will be provided with your booking confirmation.
