TOUR – CHIMPS & BOTANICAL GARDENS

This full-day tour begins at the Jane Goodall Institute Chimp Eden followed by a stroll through the Lowveld Botanical Gardens.

Chimp Eden

Chimp Eden is a sanctuary for chimpanzees that have been displaced from their habitat, in need of refuge. This is the first and only chimpanzee sanctuary in South Africa.
Visitors have a unique opportunity to view chimpanzees in semi-wild enclosures. The chimps show normal social interaction and behavioral patterns despite their traumatic backgrounds. The enclosures have viewpoints overlooking the forest and ‘foraging areas’. These areas provide the chimps with endless hours of fun. The enclosures are safe from human intervention and positively reinforce their natural behavior.

Lowveld Botanical Gardens

Following a lunch stop, we head out to spend time exploring the Lowveld Botanical Gardens in Nelspruit. One of nine National Botanical Gardens in South Africa. It is home to one of the largest collections of South African trees. And hundreds of various birds that flock there for the natural vegetation. 
Waterfalls are formed before the two rivers converge that cut across the Garden and can be viewed at the viewpoints. 

Highlights include:

• Visit the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Institute and meet the rescued chimpanzees. 
• Explore the bio-diverse Lowveld Botanical Gardens.

Duration: Full Day. 
Inclusions: Entrance fees, and a light lunch. 
Exclusions: Drinks and Items of personal nature.

Collection/Drop off:

Our pickup points include our office at Perry’s Bridge Trading Post & Tourism Centre in Hazyview. We also collect from Sabi River Sun Resort, Kruger Park Lodge, Hazyview Sun, Hippo Hollow, Numbi Hotel, and most lodges in the Hazyview central area. For collection outside of our pickup range, an additional charge may apply. 

Collection times are between 7:00 – 8:00 am and you will return at about 5:30 pm.
